A little girl in a bright orange shirt holds onto a fence,

This original oil painting was inspired by the events of Gush Katif nearly twenty years ago.
Although I did not live in Gush Katif myself,
I was an active part of the struggle against the expulsion, and those moments remain deeply etched in my heart and my identity as an israeli artist.
A Dialogue Between Realism and Abstraction
The composition focuses on the sweet innocent girl, from her delicate pigtails to her small, rounded hands.
As she walks along the path holding the fence,
the background shifts into an expressive and abstract field.
The heavy drips and fluid brushwork reflect the emotional storm the girl is navigating,
conveying her sadness alongside a resilient sense of hope.
Symbolism and Personal Narrative
While the painting draws from a specific and painful moment in Israel’s history,
its elements remain open to personal interpretation. Beyond the events of Gush Katif, every viewer can find their own story within the layers of paint.
