Grandfather’s Blessing | Original Colored Pencil Drawing by Livnat Bashari Juli
Medium: Colored Pencils on Paper | Size: 21x27 cm (approx. 8.2x10.6 inches)
This drawing is a heartfelt tribute to my grandfather,
Rabbi Zachariah Bashari.
Created after his passing,
it was drawn from the vivid memories and the enduring love he left behind.
A Narrative of Heritage:
This drawing is a central part of a deeply personal series
documenting the legacy of my grandparents,
Rabbi Zachariah and Naomi Bashari.
As Zionist pioneers who immigrated to Israel during its foundation,
their lives embodied the values of love, family, and deep-rooted faith. Using colored pencils allowed me to bring a sense of warmth and life to his image,
preserving his presence for future generations.
Artistic Context:
This drawing is an integral part of a broader artistic project,
connecting with my series of figurative oil paintings.
Through these pencil lines,
I seek to preserve the memory of their world
and the values that continue to inspire my work today.
