Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu | Original Portrait & Limited Edition Giclee Print | Livnat Bashari Juli
Limited Edition Fine Art Print Size: 80x90 cm (approx. 31.5x35.5 inches)
It started when I read the book "Avihem Shel Israel." Suddenly, Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu was no longer just the Chief Rabbi of Israel.
I was moved by him on a deeply personal level. That massive heart, the moving acts of kindness, the humility, the pure goodness.
I wanted to learn from him. To be like him. Even by just one percent.
And the photo on the book cover... something there wouldn't let me go.
He is leaning over the book. Such greatness. In such modesty. And the light... so radiant.
So, I painted. In a frenzy.Bold brushstrokes, dripping paint, vivid colors.
It felt as if someone was painting through me.
Only after I finished, did I reach out to The Rabbanit Rachel Bazak, his granddaughter. I heard she was there when that original photo was taken, and I wanted to know what really happened in that moment.
What she told me stunned me. This wasn’t just another photo. It was a moment of pure holiness captured in time.
The Rabbi was immersed in the study of the "Idra" on Lag BaOmer, on his way to Meron.
And he was glowing, literally, physically. Not from candlelight, but glowing from the power of his study!
Incredible!
For years, the photo hung in The Rabbanit Rachel Bazak's room. Today, the original painting hangs there.
People who have placed this piece in their homes tell me it changes the entire atmosphere. It sparks thought. It invites deep conversation with anyone who enters the room.
The painting is offered as a premium quality, Limited Edition Fine Art Print.
