Grandpa | Award-Winning Figurative Giclee Art Print | Livnat Bashari Juli
Medium Oil on canvas | Size 70x50 cm (approx. 27.5x19.6 inches)
This painting was awarded the prestigious Michelangelo Prize in Rome in 2019.
It is a work that brings us back to beloved childhood memories,
capturing a grandfather and his granddaughter in a moment of pure joy, both laughing.
His face is radiant,
lined with wrinkles earned through a lifetime of facing challenges with integrity.
The painting explores the continuity of generations,
a heritage passed down through laughter,
a warm embrace, and love.
I painted this piece shortly after my grandmother passed away, as part of aמ exhibition I held in Jerusalem dedicated to my grandparents.
The painting Grandpa is part of this moving series, utilizing oil on canvas to combine realistic and abstract styles.
The series tells the story of Rabbi Zecharia and Naomi Bashari, my late grandparents,
who were figures of deep values and Zionist pioneers immigrating to Israel at its founding.
Love, family, Judaism, and Zionism are the values they lived by.
I invite you on an emotional journey into a world of colors, emotions, and stories.
Each painting is a unique creation, full of life and personality.
Every work is an invitation to internal reflection and a connection to your personal memories.
